CHOICE Review

Eleven chapters discuss and illustrate many of the current key scientific issues associated with global climate change. The volume starts with a 32-page "Policymakers Summary" and a 5-page introduction, followed by various summary chapters. Eight appendixes cover such topics as emission scenarios, acronyms, units, and chemical symbols. The 11 chapters are contributed by acknowledged experts in the various fields; the topics covered include "Greenhouse Gases and Aerosols," "Radiative Forcing of Climate," "Validation of Climate Models," "Observed Climate Variations and Change," "Sea Level Rise," and "Narrowing the Uncertainities." The chapters are well illustrated and well referenced. An excellent source of material for upper-level undergraduate and graduate-level courses on the processes associated with global change and aspects of the response of the earth's system to these changes.-J. T. Andrews, University of Colorado
