Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

Bill Gates, the chairman, chief executive officer and cofounder of the Microsoft corporation, is the principal architect of the information super-highway that will shape the future. It will affect everyone as well as businesses of every type in ways more pervasive than people recognise. In this book Bill Gates explains the information super-highway, what it is, what it isn't, how individuals and institutions can prepare for it, and how these emerging technologies will transform human existence in unprecedented ways.

Library Journal Review

The Microsoft giant's much-talked-about book is now available in unabridged format. Gates's personality, which comes through so clearly in his comments inserted into the reading of the abridged version (Audio Reviews, LJ 1/96), is missing here. Even so, his basic modesty (much of it edited out of the abridged version) and his respect for the forerunners in the computer industry add a humanizing factor all too often lacking from most computer jargon. If nothing else, these tapes, read by Richard M. Davidson, emphasize how well the abridged version was edited. More heavily clued into the future, too much here seems repetitive, and by tape five this reviewer had heard enough. Even so, dedicated hackers (who might not have time to sit back and read) will be delighted.
