CHOICE Review

Marston offers an updating of one of the ten books in the "Newnes Circuits Manual Series." The word "power control" as used in this British-styled book refers to low and moderate power level electronic switches and amplifiers, not to the control of bulk power in an electric power system, nor to the control of polyphase devices and systems. Devices and circuits are discussed in nine chapters with more than 300 diagrams. The presentation is nonmathematical and very lucid. The index is excellent. Engineers, scientists, technicians, and hobbyists, and students as well as professionals will find this manual useful. Undergraduates through practitioners; two-year technical program students. G. Weiss; emeritus, Polytechnic University
