Note at rear of original picture: J. P. Holland's caption "The haze over the boat is spray caused by water shot out of the aerial torpedo gun in advance of the projectile. The projectile appears in the air over the corner of the pier and at a distance of about 150 yds. The range of this trial shot with only one fifth propelling force was 400 yards"
