Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

The Transforms and Applications Handbook brings together in a single volume the most important mathematical transforms that are frequently used by engineers and scientists. Each chapter covers one of the transforms and provides numerous examples. These examples highlight the use of the transform and its properties. Applications to different areas are also included in each chapter.
The book begins with a treatment of the delta function and some of the classical orthogonal functions. The text details transforms such as:

CHOICE Review

This handbook successfully brings together in a single volume the most commonly encountered mathematical transforms in science and engineering. The material is organized into 12 chapters and six appendixes. The first chapter is devoted to the basic theory of signals and systems; subsequent chapters cover Fourier transforms, sine and cosine transforms, the Hartley transform, Laplace transforms, the Z-transforms, Hilbert transforms, Radon and Abel transforms, the Hankel transform, wavelet transform, the Mellin transform, and mixed time-frequency signal transforms. Appendixes provide basic information on functions of a complex variable, series and summations, definite integrals, matrices and determinants, vector analysis, and algebraic formulas and coordinate systems. Each chapter includes examples that identify applications in different areas and concludes with its own list of references. The editor and the 12 contributors are well qualified, and each has done an excellent job of presenting material in a lucid manner. The handbook is an excellent buy, recommended for upper-division undergraduates through researchers/faculty. A. Aziz Gonzaga University
