CHOICE Review

An extremely important work that should be on the shelves of every library serving graduate and undergraduate engineering students in the US. Taguchi's Method, which involves general concepts and methodology of robust design as applied to quality improvement, has seen widespread application during the past 30 years in Japan, and some would argue that the Method has significantly contributed to the growth and success of Japanese industry during this period. This first English edition of the third Japanese edition published in 1977 provides us with a fully evolved view of Taguchi's contribution to product and production process design.
