Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

A manual of electrochemical technology which aims to build a bridge from fundamental electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering to industrial electochemistry by demonstrating how an understanding of the fundamentals is essential to the efficient design and operation of the process.

CHOICE Review

An impressive survey of electrochemical technology, this work deserves a prominent place in a short list covering this general area of knowledge. This second edition (1st ed., CH, Apr'83) should be greeted enthusiastically by industrial researchers, faculty, graduate students, and upper-level undergraduates alike for its excellent coverage and readability. A coauthor (Walsh) has been added, and there are twice as many pages. References as recent as 1988 are included. There are no problems posed for solution, but illustrative calculations are woven directly into the text. Basic coverage remains approximately the same as in the first edition. The environmental chapter, "Water Purification, Effluent Treatment and Recycling of Industrial Process Streams," has been moved to a more central position; Chapter 12, "Electrochemical Sensors and Monitoring Techniques," is new to this edition. Chapter 2, "Electrochemical Engineering," has been expanded by 77 pages, and this new material enhances the technical thrust of the book. -J. W. Meader, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
