Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
It covers the four areas of accountability affecting all nurses namely civil liability, professional liability, criminal liability and accountability to the employer.
Each chapter contains the following: -- learning objectives and outcomes -- important legal concepts and phrases explained -- summary at the end of each chapter -- weblinks for further information and research.
Where legal concepts and terminologies are used, they are thoroughly and clearly explained in a 'non-legal' manner.
Up-to-date leading Irish and UK cases are used throughout the text.
The cases are broken into three sections: -- The facts -- The issues to be decided -- The decision of the court. Followed by analysis and commentary on the important issues raised by the decision.
Problem questions based on factual scenarios, which test the student's application of principles, are provided at the end of each section.
Suitable for 1st and 2nd year degree nursing students at Universities and I.Ts and as a post-registration refresher text.
Includes bibliographical references and index.
Part one: Professional liability -- Part two: Civil liability -- Part three: Criminal liability -- Part four: Accountability to the employer -- Part five: Demonstrating your knowledge.
