Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
The principles of sustainable development require the minimization of the production of waste, the efficient use of materials and the recycling of wastes. The broad aim of this project, commissioned by the Department of the Environment, is to provide an increased level of information on the recycling of demolition and construction wastes in the UK, and the constraints which operate on these activities. The information obtained is presented in this report, and provides an overview of demolition and construction wastes recycling nationally, with recommendations about how recycling of such wastes can be promoted.
