CHOICE Review

Sellers has written a lucid, well-researched handbook for a specific audience: individuals in the work force whose job requires them to spend significant time working on a computer. It is nontechnical in tone, useful, comprehensive, and practical; in many chapters he refers the reader to other appropriate resources. The last chapter, "Where Else to Turn," is worth the price of the book, for it lists names, addresses, and phone numbers of companies that provide what the author calls "safe computing resources." Since the book falls into the practical, how-it-works, what-to-do-about-it category, it appears at first glance to be inappropriate for college/university libraries. However, given the growing utilization of computers by both graduate and undergraduate students, this book should certainly be considered for purchase by academic libraries. All levels. D. J. Douglas; University of Wisconsin-Madison
