School Library Journal Review

PreS-K-Three canine pals are tired of dog discrimination and decide that the biggest difference between them and humans is the clothes. So they borrow their owners' garments and set off on a week of adventures. Monday sees them at the library, on Tuesday they go out for pizza, Wednesday finds them on a shopping spree at the pet store, and on Thursday they frolic at the skateboard park. On Friday they decide to cool off in the public pool, but when they jump in wearing only swimsuits, their cover is blown and their owners are called. The canines end up in obedience school. The realistic style of the artwork portrays the silly concept of dogs in clothes well. Colorful and imaginative, Hewitt's acrylic illustrations create a multicultural, intergenerational, multi-dog world. Although some of the humor is too sophisticated for the intended audience, the story will leave dog lovers chuckling.-Angela J. Horn Book Review

Tired of all the ""No Dogs Allowed"" signs, three dogs dress up in their owner's clothes. They enjoy a trip to the library, a pizza parlor, and the pet store, but when they go to the pool and strip down to their bathing suits, they are found out. The dogs' adventures come to life in the colorful and humorous illustrations. (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
