Martin McDonagh (born 1970) is playwright, filmmaker, and screenwriter, born in England to Irish parents. He was awarded Critics' Circle Theatre Awards for Most Promising Playwright in 1996 and won an Academy Award for a short film Six Shooter in 2006 and has also been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for In Bruges .
