All music WWW site, January 29, 2014 (Robert White; American tenor; born and raised in the Bronx to Irish parents; beginning in 1945, billed as Bobby White, he began to appear as an actor and singer on radio programs; a regular member of Coast to coast on a bus, hosted by Milton Cross, and had several soap opera roles; studied voice with Gerard Souzay and pursued further musical studies with Nadia Boulanger; after obtaining his Masters at Juilliard in 1968, he started teaching music history at Hunter College and the Manhattan School of Music and continued his professional singing career; premiered works by Milton Babbitt, Gian Carlo Menotti, and Samuel Barber, and joined the New York Pro Musica under Noah Greenberg; has a radio show on the BBC, on which he sings a whole range of classical repertory, show tunes, and Irish favorites; member of the Voice Faculty of the Juilliard School)
